Meet Dr. Elizabeth Self Burckardt
Dr. Elizabeth Burckardt is a fellowship-trained Laryngeal Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Laryngology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She specializes in complex disorders of the airway, voice, and swallowing, offering both surgical and medical treatments.
A Louisville native, Dr. Burckardt graduated with honors from the University of Louisville, where she completed both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her Otolaryngology residency at the University of Louisville, followed by a prestigious fellowship in Laryngeal Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School under world-renowned voice surgeon Dr. Steven Zeitels.
Dr. Burckardt is widely published in Otolaryngology journals and lectures nationally on advanced laryngology techniques. She lives in Louisville with her husband, Dr. Kenneth Burckardt, and their two daughters.
